The Isle | Is Mixpacking bad?

Mixpacking is usually a very polarising topic in the dinosaur survival community. Many people are either in favour or against this concept, never finding a consensus on how people should play these games. However despite this discussion being frequent on all 3 major titles, people behave in completely different ways depending on the game they are playing at that moment. Why does that happen?

For those who are unaware, mixpacking in this genre is the act of grouping up with members of different species. Although there are different kinds of mixpacking which have no distinct wording, such as: Herbi with herbi, carni with carni, and herbi with carni. The latter seems to be the only one that is somewhat universally frowned upon and actively discouraged. There are people that still defend it ofc, and thats completely fine, but the real question is: how does this affect the games truly?
