BAAKLINE, Chouf: History of Lebanon, Food and Great People. The First Capital of the Mountains

BAAKLEEN: Baakline is a major Druze town located in Mount Lebanon, Chouf District, 45 kilometers southeast of Beirut. Altitude 850 – 920 meters high, population is 30,000, area 14 square km, number of homes 2,870. Bordering Towns: Deir El Qamar, Beit Eddine, Aynbal, Deir Dourit, Symkanieh, and Jahlieh

A memorable day in Baakline with Carmen started at Furn Abou Salah, the dough is very fluffy and the zaatar is fresh.
Next, Kahwet El Souk where we had a cup of Matte and a typical Lebanese breakfast.
After visiting the National Library in Baakline and historical sites, we had some Foul and Hummos at Snack Fakhereldine which is one of the best in Lebanon.
We also had a quick visit to Carmen’s father's wheat mill and shop.
For lunch, we visited Jo’s house of subs, very simple homemade sandwiches, juicy chicken, and fresh vegetables.
Healthy Option restaurant is a great discovery, Jinane prepared delicious healthy dishes, vegan food without dairy products.
Last stop at Altahouneh restaurant, delicious Lebanese cuisine with a glass of Arak by the river.
