The classic RCA 77 DX pill-shaped velocity mic that was a favorite of 1950s-1960s TV broadcasters, such as Edward R. Murrow, and is still used today in recording studios. Bidirectional, with strong rejection of sound from the sides.

The audio was entirely recorded with this mic, but separately from the video, so that the mic was always properly oriented and at a constant distance from the narrator.
