The split between Жгут (Zhgut) of Samara and Штурмовик (Shturmovik) of Krasnodar emerges as an unruly testament to blackened punk’s venomous fringes. Issued through the Бедствие label, this union is like two separate fires feeding off the same desolate wind, each consuming in its own shade of ferocity.

Жгут storms forth with a violence that borders on delirium, its riffs snapping as rusted wires, its rhythms intoxicated with decay, showing a snarling urgency that carves deeper into the veins of blackened punk.

Штурмовик, by contrast, embrace a more grounded devastation. Their songs lean on repetition as iron boots trampling cold earth, invoking images of steel, smoke, and bleak horizons, as a martial strain of blackened punk , rigid yet corrosive, less frenzied than their counterparts, but equally determined to claw at the listener’s psyche. And in a striking departure, they close the record with a song more aligned with hard rock than in the diseased fumes of punk.
