Enric Batlle on Building Biodiversity into Urban Infrastructure

Enric Battle discusses the integration of biodiversity and infrastructure in urban spaces. Battle makes the case for green space being the main form of infrastructure in urban spaces, showing the power and importance of green space at various scales. Throughout various projects in the Barcelona metropolitan area, Battle looks to biodiversity, connectivity, and productivity to shape urban green spaces.

Enric Battle is an architect and partner at Battle i Roig, and has taught at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura del Vallès. Battle i Roig’s notable works include the Mercado de las Telecomunicaciones de España, Parque de la Pegaso, and Parque de la Trinidad (all in Barcelona).
