In this on-bike interview, I keep things local by reconnecting with Adam Greenfield, Advocacy Director, and Diego Martinez-Moncada, Executive Director, with the Safe Streets Austin non-profit organization. We explore some new, safer street infrastructure, including Dutch-inspired protected bike lanes and bi-directional cycle tracks, a brand new multi-use path that provides a safer all ages and abilities alternative to getting downtown, a potential new bridge across Shoal Creek, and a complete redesign opportunity for Congress Avenue. We also discuss how the organization is working to engage with the community to bolster support for safer streets and prevent misinformation from the haters and NIMBYs from spreading.
