What’s Happening?
The FMCSA Clearinghouse tracks certain compliance violations for CDL drivers.
If your record shows you’re in a “Prohibited” status, the DMV will not renew your license — even if you meet all other requirements.

✔ To check your status:
1. Log in at clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov.
2. See if your status says “Prohibited.”
3. If it does, you must complete the Return-to-Duty process.

The Return-to-Duty (RTD) process has 5 steps.
• Steps 1–4 involve working with a qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) to complete an evaluation and any required follow-ups.
