"Italo disco is the ultimate cheesy ‘80s dance genre, born in Italy in the 70s and spread through Europe through the 80s, even reaching my home country of Finland. It’s disco powered by glittery synths, drum machines and dramatic, catchy melodies. Think lovesick lyrics, spacey vibes, and a touch of Euro-glam that’s impossible to take seriously — but even harder to resist! From a musical perspective, it’s a really interesting genre, blending elements of disco, new wave and early electronic music, and using sounds that later have started to have retro appeal.
For this weekend’s challenge, take insipiration from this dance teaching video. I won’t spoil it by explaining it. Let’s just say it’s what happened when disco met Finnish culture. Feel free to use clips of the video and spoken audio. Let’s try to avoid copyright strikes
