Welcome to our explanation of the Erdtree! What it is really, whether it is a parasite, a blessing, real, an illusion, or not quite any of them! In this lore video we explain what the roots of the tree are, explain the lore of the Omens, explain the curse of a leader such as Marika or Radagon, explain grace, and link together Elden Ring with the broader message of Dark Souls and From Software games, and just what the creators are trying to say through their art.

This video gives a lot of insight into the DLC including the role of Messmer, the aim of Rykard, the reason snakes have wings, why the Erdtree has a shadow, and most importantly: what "story" is told by the fallen leaves!
