This review was a long time coming.
Always wanted this kit, so glad to finally get it and knock out a video. I really enjoy grunt suits. So simple, but there's so much depth there too. The MG GM ver 2.0 is prob top 3 kits for me. This Jegan was also great, just way more bland. Still, happy to make a video of it.

Slightly new structure, with the scores all moved to the end. I think it flows a lot better, and hopefully will cut back on the score discussion. Kind of over having to justify scores lol. Hopefully, moving them to the back end of the video will make them feel less important. Let me know what you guys think!
Video footage went well, though I neglected to turn on one of the overhead lights for the locked down standing shots. Had to mess with lighting while editing to try and fix it. This led this review to look a little more contrasty.
Decided to keep the full aspect ratio. Recently saw a podcast that was shot in some crazy 36:9 aspect ratio, so decided to follow suit and not crop to 16:9. It looks strangely cinematic, especially with the increased contrast
Audio was a little mouth-soundy, so ran a click remover over top. I can’t believe that I’m like 10 years into video production and STILL can’t get audio sounding good. At this point I just need to hire a guy to fix it. I’ll never have that skillset, and I need to accept that.
Tried something new with the background music. What if instead of having it play the whole time and potentially get annoying, if it starts normal, but then gets quieter throughout the video? Tried it here, and really like it, though the fade is too obvious, happening within the first 30 seconds after the intro. Probably should make it like a 2 minute fade instead.
Editing was pretty standard, though I specifically wanted to make it easy on myself. Tried not to go overboard on inserts or effects. Didn’t use too many rings or manuals or box arts. Just wanted something simple and easy, and I think this turned out alright. Real B+ score.
Thumbnail and title card are lazy again. I have Youtube so backwards… All this time and effort to make a good looking video, yet no one will watch it because the thumbnails are bland. Eh~ Weeds out the clickbait watchers, so I’m not too upset.
So, elephant in the room… yeah, I don’t upload as much as I used to. There’s a number of reasons that I’d love to shift blame to (specifically Bandai for not releasing MG’s anymore!), but ultimately I just think I'm ready to move on to other things. WAIT- WAIT- HOLD ON- The channel is NOT ENDING, so all good, but hear me out here and keep reading!
I originally just wanted to improve my video production skills (the reason for these production notes in every description), but I think I’ve taken the quality as high as it can go for this style of video. The only way I could see to improve would be to rework the format from the ground up, but at that point, why not move on to other endeavors?
So, what are those ‘other endeavors?’ The main one is game programming. I’ve really gotten into Godot recently, and self-taught myself the basics with a little Mega-man test game. It really got me thinking that I could make an original 2D platformer! If I did, I would need artists/writers/musicians. Thankfully, there’s a bunch of them that watch these videos! Yes, you! So, despite thinking it’s time to move on, I’ll continue this channel.
That doesn’t mean I’ll be making these videos out of obligation or anything, I do still enjoy Gunpla/videos, but now there’s a long term goal, meaning there should be MORE videos released! Of course, Bandai still doesn’t make Master Grades anymore, so idk what I’m gonna make videos on…
…ya know what? Forget all of the above, let’s just blame Bandai. If only that Zaku II Kai had been an MG instead of a RE/100... You cut me deep, Bandai... Bernie deserved so much more!
Thanks for reading all that. Just want to be transparent about this channel, especially because you guys are so patient.
Also, been listening to a lot of Sonic Adventure music recently. Jun Senoue is so good! • Windy and Ripply -Emerald Coast- (S.A.M.E....
