A village woman prepared a beloved traditional Turkish dessert, rice pudding, over the stove, while the aroma of firewood mingled with the warmth of the traditional kitchen and the sounds of wind and snow outside, creating a scene filled with nostalgia and peace. The details of life unfolded in their simplest forms: the crackling fire, the copper pots, and the serene smiles.

As night fell, people began gathering in the village to celebrate the arrival of the New Year despite the bitter cold. They performed traditional Black Sea dances amidst the heavy snowfall, while fires lit throughout the village, warming hearts as well as bodies—a scene that embodied solidarity and the beauty of rural life in the harshest winter conditions.

On the second day, as the snowstorm continued, we moved on to another experience of the warmth of rural cuisine. Another traditional Turkish dessert, baklava, was prepared in the village style, amidst an atmosphere of simplicity and tranquility, the crackling of the firewood, and the aroma of coffee and Turkish tea filling the air with warmth and peace.

After enjoying the dessert, we sat by the hearth inside the house, lit the fire, brewed hot Turkish tea, and watched the snow fall ceaselessly through the window onto the mountains and white rooftops. The scene was like a living work of art, with only the whistling wind and the crackling of the fire to be heard. Despite the severity of the storm, the villagers seemed happy and at peace with winter, celebrating it and welcoming the snow as a blessing and a beauty that warmed their souls before their homes.
