This is a spectacular walk. We were staying in Llanberis and used the Snowdon Sherpa bus to get to Pen -Y-Pass, which is the start of the Miner’s track (also the Pyg track). We climbed the Miner’s Track to the summit which is a stunning route up the highest mountain in Wales. The path is easy to follow and the first half is a relatively gentle climb. The second half of the ascent is steeper, but nothing too scary. We had sunshine for most of the climb, before being enveloped in cloud for about the last mile. I had read that the Miner’s track was a 3.5 mile route, but our GPS had it down as nearly a mile longer. We then took a break before descending the Llanberis path back to the village. This walk has made me realise why so many people love Snowdon as it has so much variety; one mountain with seemingly endless perspectives, depending on the routes, the seasons or even the time of day. It would be very hard feel that you had experienced all it has to offer.
