Snow White's Adventures Disneyland Original 1955 audio mix

This is the third out of four audio mix of the original 1950's Fantasyland dark rides that I'm posting on my channel, specifically the original version of Snow White's Adventures. While I do prefer the other original dark rides (but not Pinocchio), this has always been another really fun and for most of it's history, very spooky attraction. The original version opened with the park in 1955, and although it was kind of primitive compared to the 1983 and 2021 versions, it was still extremely charming and even had a superior, IMO, soundtrack. Also, I want to give a huge thanks to DisneyChris.com for providing the incredible audio mix that you hear, which I have synced with many vintage images of the original version in the 50's and early-60's. This classic attraction began outside the tournament tent façade like the other dark rides at the time, with King Arthur's Carousel and it's Band Organ playing in the center. You see the original beautiful loading mural, and you board your mine car (which looked a bit different and smaller than the c.1968 to present versions, and yes the originals were replaced well over a decade before the ride was rebuilt in 82-83) and enter the Seven Dwarves Mine. At first it's just darkness and the mine song, but then you come across such sights as an endless mineshaft, the Seven Dwarves Vault, the famous Dwarves mining with pickaxes setup, and Dopey standing next to a rock and sign reading "Beware of the Witch". Then, it's out into the glade where you see Snow Whites animal friends, the Seven Dwarves cottage, and the vultures, before hearing the Portcullis slam shut of the Queen's Castle. In this menacing area, you see chattering Skeletons, and the first three Wicked Witch dioramas. The first is her shadow, while the second is a full sized Witch figure standing brewing the Poison Apple at her cauldron. The last Witch diorama is the Witch cackling from behind a castle wall. Then, it's out into the darkness again, before making your way through the classic Haunted Forest scene (RIP 1955-2020), before seeing the last two Witch dioramas. The fourth is the Witch saying "Have an Apple dearie!" from the door of the Seven Dwarfs Cottage, however after careful investigation of the only live recording of the original (1955-82) version, both Alex R and THE MAN pointed out in the comments that the Witch actually didn't say that at the cottage door, instead at the Cauldron scene (Thank you both!). (I may have a newer version of this video/audio coming in the future with the dialogue in correct order) The last diorama is the Witches death from being crushed by lighting and a boulder, another scene which has always been part of the ride. Then it's back into the hustle and bustle of Fantasyland at Disneyland. If you are wondering where Snow White was during this story, the reason was that you played the role of Snow White. This was because of the extremely limited and tight budgets that WED worked with the in the early-to-mid-50's before and up to the parks opening. Although Disney made several successful films during that time, it simply wasn't enough to fund the new entertainment venture, so they had to cut costs in some places simply because, unlike today's multi-million dollar company, they didn't have a lot of money and resources back then, mainly because of how much money the studio lost during and for a few years after World War II. But after Disneyland proved to be a massive success, the cash started flowing in like never before. It wasn't until after Walt's passing in the 1970's when they started losing money again because the films at that time, though some were good, were generally not as successful as most during Walt's time. This was also why they couldn't rebuild the ride until the 1982-83 New Fantasyland, even though they likely wanted to years earlier in the 70's. Despite being one of Disneyland's smaller dark rides from the 60's to the present day, the Snow White ride has always been a really fun, scary (except for 2021-present in this case), and charming C Ticket dark ride in the middle of Fantasyland.
