Best out of five: Qodosen SR-286 vs four other portables on Voz Missionaria 9665 kHz from Brazil

Описание к видео Best out of five: Qodosen SR-286 vs four other portables on Voz Missionaria 9665 kHz from Brazil

Comparing four popular and good mid-range radios to the Qodosen SR-286. This video shows the XHDATA D-808, XHDATA D-109, Tecsun PL-368 and the Eton Elite Traveler competing against the Qodosen SR-286 on a weak signal from Brazil. It is Radio Voz Missionaria on 9665 kHz from a 10 kW transmitter in Camboriú.

To make things interesting, I decided to do this comparison on built-in whip antennas only, as many people who live in apartments will have no other choice. This video gives a very good idea of how these five radios will perform indoors on their whip antennas only.

The signal fluctuates quite a bit, but it remains interesting to see how each radio copes. I was a bit disappointed by the performance of the two XHDATA radios, although there are some very clear moments on the D-109. Both the XHDATA radios seem to aggressively boost the signal, then drop it again. The Eton does quite well, and the Tecsun also.

This was recorded indoors, right by a very big window, with all power in the house switched off at the main power switch to reduce electrical interference. Received on 5 April 2024.
