They are known as the Original Six. The six oldest and most revered franchises in the NHL.

Today we are going to look at the early years of the oldest and most successful of them all; the Montreal Canadiens. Starting with their formation in the early 1900's up through their first Stanley Cup championship as a member of the NHL in the mid 1920's.
