It took a combination of Christian's vision and the incredible horn-building skills of Miel Adams to take this unique flugelhorn design from dream to reality.

When I saw the prototype at the factory, I actually didn't want to play it because design was so unusual. But eventually I played it, and I was astonished by how fun this horn is to play! Most flugelhorns make some compromises that can hinder you as a musician, especially when the result is a compacted octave between tuning C and high C. This horn has great intonation in that octave, even with a slightly deeper mouthpiece like our ACB MDF cup.

The design doesn't just add to the efficiency of the horn, it's also a true work of art. Some people think this horn is just a toy or a gimmick, but it's a remarkably beautiful instrument with a vocal quality to the tone. The combination of the red brass bell stem and nickel silver flare gives it a wonderful richness while also retaining a crisp articulation.
