Devi Kamakhya also known as the renowned goddess of Desire whose shrine is situated in the heart of the Nilachal Hills in Guwahati, Assam. The temple on Kamakhya is first said to have been built by Kama Deva, the god of erotic love, desire and pleasure.

During the Ambubachi Mela, a unique ritual takes place, symbolizing the goddess Kamakhya's annual menstrual cycle. The temple doors are closed for three days, and it is believed that the goddess bleeds, for the continuation of creation cycle.

Here I have drawn Devi Kamakhya with my sheer creativity & imagination to depict the festival of Ambubachi and not properly her scriptural form! The "Yoni Mudra" by Devi depicts her connection to Yoni (Vagina), Creation & Preservation!
The setting is that of the inside of Kamakhya temple, with the backdrop of Neelachal Parvat with rains signifying the relation of Ambubachi with water.
