Join me on my journey in the Mourne Mountains.
My journey begins from Ott car park. Crossing the road directly from Ott car park climb the stile and follow the path upwards. Ott mountain will be on your right side and Fanny dam to the left. Continue on up to the Mourne Wall Slieve Lough Shannagh will be to your left and Carn Mountain to your right. Climb over the Mourne Wall between these two mountains using the large stile.
Once over the wall you'll see the Doan just stay on the path straight up till it. On the path you'll have fantastic views of Lough Shannagh to your right and breathtaking views of the Mourne Mountains all around you. This video will take you right into the heart of the Mournes.
Once you've climbed Slieve Doan and enjoyed the views of the Mourne Mountains and Silent Valley head back down to the foot of the mountain. From the foot of the Doan I made my way round the left of the mountain then headed towards Ben Crom. Be careful as this area can sometimes be quite boggy. Once at Ben Crom you can enjoy the views of Ben Crom Reservoir with Slieve Lamagan and Slieve Binnian directly in front of you.
