The Race 2 Space 2025 competition saw 32 teams and 42 days of testing. 43 hotfires were conducted at Airborne Engineering Ltd and 17 at Protolaunch.

The following prizes were handed out:

Best Newcomer: Sheffield Hallam University
The Sheffield Hallam team were new this year, yet managed to build and test one of the highest performing and most reliable bi-propellant rocket engines.

Teamwork/collaboration award: Harry Hodgkinson
Harry built and hot-fired a nitrous bi-propellant rocket engine that delivered the highest recorded thrust and highest ISP achieved by UK students using nitrous. This is a remarkable achievement considering he is in sixth-form! Harry's story embodies the collaborative nature and peer-led learning that is central to Race 2 Space.

Winning hybrid team: Cardiff Rocket Labs, Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd
Cardiff were also newcomers, and impressed everyone with their high performing hybrid rocket engine.

Winning Liquid Oxygen bi-propellant team: Project Sunride, The University of Sheffield
The Sheffield team fired the rocket engine with the highest specific impulse and the highest thrust liquid oxygen engine of the competition.

Winning nitrous bi-propellant team: Imperial College London Rocketry, Imperial College London
The Imperial team tested the nitrous bi-propellant engine with the highest combustion efficiency and fired it 7 times.

Technical achievement award: LURA - Leeds University Rocketry Association, University of Leeds
University of Leeds developed a liquid oxygen e-pump which successfully operated at cryogenic temperatures.
