Il Regno Unito è ormai una fucina di jazzisti di successo, a partire dal duo (ormai dissolto) Yussef Kamaal fino ai Shabaka and the Ancestors e i Sons of Kemet, due band guidate dal carismatico sassofonista Shabaka Hutchings. In questi anni Hutchings ha inaugurato anche un altro progetto interessante insieme al tastierista Dan Leavers e al batterista Max Hallett: la band The Comet Is Coming, che fonde il jazz di Sun Ra e Pharoah Sanders con il funk, il rock e l’afrobeat.
È soprattutto la tastiera di Leavers a fare da tappeto sonoro, mentre Hutchings libera il suo sassofono e il clarinetto per aprire orizzonti cosmici. A tratti in alcuni passaggi ritmici sembra di sentire echi del grime, un sottogenere del rap molto popolare nel Regno Unito.
