2023 Mercedes AMG C43 (W206) // High Expectations, Major Frustrations // Full Review

The AMG badge means performance, the Mercedes Benz badge means comfort, luxury, and tech. And though there's some controversy over dropping the twin-turbo V6 for a turbo-four, the incoming W206's F1 inspired, hand-built M139 motor makes more power than the outgoing W205's M276. The new motor, with it's electrified turbo, makes 402-hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. It's mated to a 9-speed SpeedShift (MCT/multi-clutch) transmission. Power goes through all four wheels with a heavy rear bias at a ratio of 31:69. It's tough not to look at this 2023 with high expectations. And can it hold up against a BMW M340i?
