Описание к видео What Happens When You Go To Court For A Misdemeanor

What happens when you go to court for a misdemeanor in McLennon County, Texas. Every court is different, but this is what you can expect when going to court in McLennon County Texas for a misdemeanor charge.

The first setting is the arraignment. The purpose of this is to determine who is representing you, such as an attorney. Then you will receive several other settings that are marked "plea of guilty." This does NOT mean you are pleading guilty, and that's why it can be confusing. Do not let these settings confuse you, this is how the court keeps track of its cases.

If you do decide to plead guilty, however, you will have a court date set. If not, the date will be set for a disposition hearing. The purpose here is to determine what will happen in the case, either a plea or a trial. Many other courts have settings that are called "announcements for status hearings." Remember, McLennon county manages its cases a little differently and does not label its settings this way.
