Alor is a part of East Nusa Tenggara province. Located in the eastern part of Lesser Sunda Islands and is the largest island in the Alor archipelago. Alor is known for it's world class dive sites, astonishing marine life, and it's crystal clear water.⁠ What's also unique is that you will often see the traditional fish traps made from woven bamboo and rattan placed on the sandy part between the corals. Be prepare to witness the stunning reefs and look out to the blue for the pelagic that may be passing by, it's truly a remarkable experience.

Some of the dive sites are better suited for the more experienced divers as the currents can be quite strong and unpredictable. March to December are the best time to visit. Visibility can reach up to 40m and water temperature ranges fro 26-29 degrees. The thermoclines can reach 20 degrees. And if you have extra time between your dives, visit Mawar, the famous friendly dugong in Alor.

Although considered a remote area, the transport to Alor is relatively easy. The flights are available everyday from Jakarta. Direct flights take you from Jakarta to Kupang where you can continue your flight to Alor.⁠
