Clementine - Elliott Smith cover

Описание к видео Clementine - Elliott Smith cover

A cover of Clementine by Elliott Smith, performed by Ethan Daum. Another amazing song off of Elliott's self titled album. I love how the lyrics play off of the folk tune Clementine - I looked up the lyrics the other day, and they are so tragic for such a pleasant sounding song! In the song the storyteller sings of a woman he loves, who one day trips and falls into a "foaming brine". He then watches her drown (somewhat graphically) because he can't swim. Oh my goodness! :)

For you guitarists:
The tuning is fun on this one. C G C E A D
The beginning chord is like a normal D shape. The main chords in the verse are 000032 - but you work the melody line in there, and your thumbs plugs along on that low E string. Then it goes to 442000. Most of the other chords are just a plain bar, and you do some hammer ons with them. The other main chord you'll see is x02120 - and some hammer ons happen on the second fret of the high E string.

I bet you can figure it out if you listen and watch my hands closely! I think the hardest part is getting your thumb to hit that low E string on the right beats.
