Olmaxmotor's Motorcycle Tire Changing Machine and Balancer - Review

Tire Lube: My personal preferred tire lube is the liquid: “Murphy's Concentrated Extra Slippery Tire And Tube Mounting Compound”. They also have paste compounds. My personal preference is the liquid because it goes on easier and dries like it was never there. I use both types in the video.

Add-ons:

In the video you will see I had a few add-ons for my machine. They are not necessary to operate the machine, but they are improvements..

1. I added a felt pad to the underside of the bead breaker. This is just a normal furniture leg pad available at any big box home improvement store for pennies.

2. I made my own longer wheel stop post. Olmaxmotors says they will make longer posts available, at least for users who have offset spoke wheels like those on the single sided swing arm Ducati’s. I just got an inexpensive 16mm x 300mm shaft off Amazon and added a piece of 16mm ID heater hose from the local O'rileys auto parts store.

3. I designed and produce bead spacers. You can order from me if you would like a set. Use the email above to contact me. Here is a link to an unedited video clip showing the bead spares in use. They make getting the tire bead to fall into the center easy, and they work very well. Some users have reported using sets on the top and bottom beads for really stiff tires, but I only use them on top, after breaking the lower bead.

4. I also designed and made my own nut “spinners” for the bead breaker adjusters. Olmaxmotors says they have new nuts on the current machines that spin freely. My add-on knurled thumbwheel “spinners” allow easier hand tightening of the nuts. You can order from me if you would like a set. Use the email above to contact me.

5. I added a quick release pin in lieu of the M10 screw used for the bead breaker arm. This is really unnecessary but it looks nice and is easier to handle than the screw/nut. I got it form eBay, Search for “L Handle Ball Lock Bolts Quick Release” It’s a 10mm pin, 50mm long.

6. Finally, I found the main shaft a little difficult to tighten without scarring it from vice grips for example. The shaft is left-hand threaded so it will not come out in normal use since you always go counterclockwise. But I preferred mine tighter so I added flats to the end of the shaft. Those can be seen in the video and are not stock, yet. I have recommended adding those flats to Olmaxmotors for their consideration.
