Hello, and welcome to my dramatic guide for Frost Mage: Spellslinger.
Today we will follow the adventures of three mages, each on their own unique journey.
This guide will be different from other guides you've encountered in several ways, so let's dive into some of those differences.
Teaching Style:
Many guides depend on rote memory, where you recite a spell list and then weight the results of your current situation against a syllogism to determine your next maximally efficient move. Sound complicated? It can be.
In this guide, we take a unique approach to learning by first understanding what skill level you are currently at, then meet you where you are, and go from there. You will be supplied with spells and talents that will lead you to greater and better things. How fast and how far you move in this guide is completely up to you. So, feel free to move at your own pace.
If you're just starting out with mage, I highly recommend watching the experience in its entirety, as I will be employing a building block approach to your lessons. Wherein each lesson, or chapter, relies on the knowledge of the previous chapter.
Several spells and talents that you are given will organically morph over time as you learn more as a growing mage. I encourage you to stick with the rotations and talents given until such time you feel you are ready to move on.
Each talent tree and rotation has been hand-crafted to maximize your experience. The music, lighting, pacing, intermissions and eye direction played a large role in this production. I tried to build the experience around what you naturally do.
Rotation Differences:
For example: (which if you are new, may not fully understand yet until learning the "language of mages" in this video)
You are taught FB x4 on ST and AoE after IV, when traditionally FB x4 after IV in ST is a DPS loss. This is done for several reasons: Firstly, it creates consistency between ST and AoE - reducing memorization. Casting 4 FB will likely result in a proc of BF, which you will then use to utilize and practice your core rotation found in Chapter One. It instills the core rotation as well as passively teach you what a filler spell is (FB). As you will be juggling procs and only using FB when there's nothing left to do. You will ween yourself off this naturally as you level because as Spellslinger grows, so to do the procs of FoF. Around level 77 or so, you should have naturally taught yourself how to manage procs, as you will be using orb to create FoF instead of using FB. As you are taught in the video that procs take priority over FB. Ultimately, you will be naturally shifting from an AoE rotation to a ST one. And your brain did that. Just like your brain filled in the music gap during the intro :) There are several viewers that say, "You made it click." When actually, YOU made it click.
This is just some of many differences, but unfortunately YouTube has a limit of 5,000 characters and cannot express the entire method here.
Side Notes:
This dramatic guide may not be your cup of tea. Everyone learns differently and at different speeds. I welcome your comments, concerns, suggestions and constructive criticisms. One of the goals of this channel is to tear down the barrier that barricades the viewer from the joy of playing a mage. Barricades that many viewers found unpassable until they observed this teaching style in action and changed their mind. And now, enjoy yet another thing in life.
I do not, and will not, monetize this channel. I get nada. I have no company or position to defend. I'm just a person that loves to help people. Analytics, algorithms, and view count are never a factor in the content provided. I produce the content I fell will help the world. If I help just one person then this recording, editing, sound, scripting, graphics, and animations will be worth it all, for just one person. I am expressing my love and passion. Nothing more, nothing less.
Disclaimer:
These specs and rotations are not used by any top mage, as they are personally tailored to be training wheels for newer players.
I have firsthand practiced these things (to borderline obsessive) based solely on what you learn from the video, and some assumptions of how people learn. This type of teaching style has helped thousands of people.
The goal throughout this video experience is to teach you skills you can perfect, and not a memory test.
I genuinely hope you learn something.
