United Airlines is the third largest airline in the world with 900+ mainline planes, serving 300+ destinations in 70 countries across the globe. It has also been labeled one of the US's most hated companies - but the airline has tried hard over the past 5 years to improve its image as well as the passenger experience. In 2016, management announced a new long haul business class called "Polaris." This new product - highlighted by a better seat and sleep-focused amenities - was supposed to be the new "North Star" of international business class. And when it launched, it was widely praised. But a lot has happened since then - including COVID and the introduction of new business class products by its competitors - so is Polaris still an industry-leading premium flying experience?? Today we're going to find out aboard the 787-8 on a 12 hour overnight flight from Tel Aviv to Chicago.

And yes, you read that right - I took a spill in Tel Aviv and broke my thumb, so I was traveling with a bit of extra baggage in the form of a plaster cast - so we also got to see how United treats its customers with medical ailments.
