"From the Legal World". Aus dem Rechtsleben was one of Eduard’s compositions for the Vienna Carnival of 1875. He wrote the waltz for the Lawyers’ Ball, held in the Musikverein on 27 January that year, and dedicated it to the ball-organising committee. From its languorous introduction (thematically linked to Waltz 3) and the impact of its punchy theme 3B to its fortissimo conclusion, this is one of the composer’s most undeservedly neglected creations in 3/4 time. Aus dem Rechtsleben drew unanimous praise from the ball reporters, the Illustrirtes Wiener Extrablatt remarking that ‘this tuneful waltz’ was encored three times and, after the interval, had to be played twice more. The critic for the Neues Fremden-Blatt sought to temper his knowledge with a little humour: ‘Eduard Strauss had plagiarised a title from the Wiener Zeitung and called his latest waltz Aus dem Rechtsleben – it is well known that the legal column of the official journal has the same title. Moreover, it was a very merry, charming report—“from the legal world”.’

"Desde el Mundo Jurídico". Aus dem Rechtsleben fue una de las composiciones de Eduard para el Carnaval de Viena de 1875. Escribió el vals para el Baile de los Abogados, celebrado en el Musikverein el 27 de enero de ese año, y lo dedicó al comité organizador del baile. Desde su lánguida introducción (temáticamente vinculada a Waltz 3) y el impacto de su tema 3B hasta su conclusion en fortissimo, esta es una de las creaciones más inmerecidamente descuidadas del compositor en compás de 3/4. Aus dem Rechtsleben recibió elogios unánimes de los reporteros del baile, el Illustrirtes Wiener Extrablatt comentó que "este melodioso vals" fue repetido tres veces y, después del intervalo, tuvo que tocarse dos veces más. El crítico del Neues Fremden-Blatt trató de moderar su conocimiento con un poco de humor: 'Eduard Strauss había plagiado un título del Wiener Zeitung y llamó a su último vals Aus dem Rechtsleben; es bien sabido que la columna legal del diario oficial tiene el mismo titulo. Además, era un reportaje muy alegre y encantador, “del mundo legal”.
