On today's Outkick the Show, Clay Travis discussed ESPN's admission and apology for turning SportsCenter into WokeCenter. Clay Travis has been saying -- for years -- that ESPN's horrific decision to mix politics with sports was the contributing factor to it's catastrophic ratings collapse.

Because ESPN allowed so much politics on SportsCenter, Clay Travis coined the term "WokeCenter" to describe it -- as many of the hosts (such as Jemele Hill) were woke and was outraged nearly every day about something. Jemele Hill was a true social justice warrior and Clay Travis said Jemele Hill and others' injection of politics into sports was a bad decision and WokeCenter would end up having horrible ratings.

Clay Travis discussed this on his shows "Outkick the Coverage" and "Outkick the Show" and he also wrote the best-selling book "Republicans Buy Sneakers Too" about combining politics into sports and having the SportsCenter / WokeCenter hosts be very active social justice warriors.

Clay quoted many parts of a Washington Post story that featured Norby Williamson, who is now in charge of SportsCenter, and changed course and turned SportsCenter back into a program that focused on sports.

Of Norby Williamson, the article stated, "In a year on the job, Norby Williamson has overseen the end of the personality-driven 6 p.m. “SportsCenter” that starred Jemele Hill and Michael Smith. (Hill called Trump a white supremacist last year and recently left ESPN.) Meanwhile, 7 a.m. and noon editions of "SportsCenter" were added to the daily schedule this fall."

The article mentions how the new SportsCenter featuring Sage Steele has huge ratings now. The article quotes Sage Steele -- "I think we've recommitted to what people expect from us," Sage Steele said. "Just as I would have watched the 'CBS Evening News' show with Dan Rather, I want my information. This is the same thing - just sports."

The article mentioned that Colin Kaepernick is no longer a major part of the show as Colin Kaepernick was when WokeCenter was happening. Colin Kaepernick may still be mentioned but not in a political sense. ESPN ratings are much higher now that WokeCenter is gone and SportsCenter is back and Chris Berman is back too.
