Massive Sand Mining Scam in Andhra Pradesh Exposed with Satellite Images | ₹4,400 Crore Loot?

During the tenure of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, illegal sand mining operations have allegedly looted sand worth over ₹4,400 crore across Andhra Pradesh. Based on satellite imagery and a detailed affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court by the Mining Department Commissioner, it has been revealed that around 3.91 crore metric tonnes of sand were illegally excavated between 2021 and 2024.

The satellite data, provided by AP Space Center, identifies 794 illegal sand mining locations across the Krishna, Godavari rivers and their tributaries. Out of the total sand looted, demand notices worth ₹1,467 crore have been issued for just 1.22 crore metric tonnes. The remaining sand still awaits legal action.
