Egypt's former strongman leader Hosni Mubarak, who ruled the country for nearly three decades,... has died due to reported complications during surgery.

Se-min, Mubarak died on Tuesday at the age of 91.
His son says he was in the intensive care unit at a military hospital after undergoing surgery.
Mubarak was vice president to Anwar Sadat,... but took power in 1981 after Sadat was shot down at a military parade.
The strongman ruled his country with an iron fist,... until he was ousted in 2011 during the Arab Spring revolution.
After his resignation, Mubarak was charged with corruption, abuse of power, and conspiring to kill protesters.
He was sentenced to life in prison in 2012 for killing hundreds of protestors,... but was acquitted in 2017.
During his years in power,... Mubarak crushed a rising Islamist radical movement,... and played mediator between Israel and the Palestinians.
Joining air force at the age of 24,... he became the director of the air academy in 1966,... and became a war hero among Egyptians in 1973 for his battle against Israel.
