For the first time in BUTI history, an operetta chronicling the daily life of a BUTI student was presented in the historic West Street Theatre. Performed by YAO and YAVP students, the operetta tells a tale of love, loss, and betrayal. Grammy-nominated composer Jacob Sugarman and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Preston Johnston have come together to create a heart-wrenching, edge-of-your-seat experience that you won’t want to miss! This artistic journey was hailed as a “masterpiece!” by the New York Times and “almost as good as a mid-tier professional orchestra” by the Boston Classical Review. The star-studded roster includes internationally recognized contrabassoonist/carrier of The Ring Jensen Bocco, Academic Festival Overture principal oboe/former NYO member Laura Michael, and BPYO member/Ben Zander disciple Iverson Eliopoulos.
