Описание к видео The Regicides - The Men That EXECUTED King Charles I

One of the most shocking moments in History was when the King of England Charles I would be executed inside of London following the English Civil War. It was the bloodiest conflict in English History, but following his defeat Charles I was placed on trial and he was condemned to death. There were a number of men who signed the death warrant of the King, and following the Restoration of the Monarchy this would come back to haunt many men. Following Charles I's execution and the return of the monarchy with his son Charles II becoming King, Charles II went after the regicides, those men who signed the death warrant of the King.

Many of those regicides in the years had died and this included Oliver Cromwell, Henry Ireton and John Bradshaw. But these were then subjected to a posthumous execution, and their remains were at the mercy of the executioner. It was a shocking attack upon those who were considered the enemies of the monarchy. Many escaped and managed to evade capture, but many more were subjected to being hanged, drawn and quartered.
