Taunsa Barrage is a Barrage on the #River_Indus in #Taunsa Tehsil of #Dera_Ghazi_khan District,Punjab province of #Pakistan.it is situated 20 kilometres (12miles) southeast of Taunsa Sharif and 16 kilometers (9.9miles) from #Kot_Adu. The current Chief minister Punjab sardar #Usman_khan_Buzdar Belong to Tunsa. This Barrage control water flow in the river indus for irrigation and flood control purpose.Taunsa Barrage was designated Ramsar site on 22March 1996.
This Barrage serves 2.351 million acres (951,400 hectares) of land besides diverting flows from Indus River to the Chenab River through Taunsa Panjnad link canal( TP Link canal).The Barrage also serves as an arterial road bridge, #Railway_Bridge and crossing for Gas and oil pipelines, telephone lines and extra High voltage (EHV) transmission lines.

Khushhal Khan Khattak Express ( خوشحال خان خٹک ایکسپریس) is a passenger train operated daily by Pakistan Railways between Karachi and Peshawar. The trip takes approximately 34 hours and 15 minutes to cover a published distance of 1,512 kilometres (940 mi), traveling along a stretch of the Karachi–Peshawar Railway Line and Kotri–Attock Railway Line. The train named after Khushhal Khan Khattak, a Pashtun nationalist and poet, warrior, scholar, and chief of the Khattak tribe. Train is suspended after covid 19, but efforts are being made to run this train.

Closure due to Covid-19

Khushhal Khan Khattak Express was suspended in March 2020, due to Covid-19. The train has not been restored till 2024, the route of this train is very unique and it was the only train which touches Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan.
