From the Bible: Mark 4:35-41.
It had been a long day. Jesus had been teaching crowds of people by the Sea of Galilee, telling them stories about God’s kingdom. As the sun began to set, He turned to His disciples and said,
"Let’s go over to the other side of the lake."
Suddenly, the wind began to howl. Dark clouds raced across the sky. Waves grew higher and higher, crashing over the sides of the boat. The disciples were fearful of drowning.
Jesus woke up. He stood, looked at the raging wind and waves, and spoke:
"Peace! Be still!"
At once, the wind stopped. The waves grew quiet. The sea became as smooth as glass.
Jesus turned to His disciples and asked,
"Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

The disciples were amazed. They looked at each other and asked,
"Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey Him!"
