PREVIOUSLY:
After taking over Moravia in the northern parts, the Liberation Army spends the night recuperating and preparing themselves for their biggest battle up to date. At the break of day, all the troops gather as they march on to Shazarazade with their 500 boats made by using Thrash's ice breath.

The battle at Shazarazade ensues, with the Liberation Army coming out on top. A party led by Tir and Viktor infiltrates the fortress to close the floodgate, while Mathiu's group will be pouring oil from the outside to burn down the stronghold. As Tir's party were on their way out however, the fire started earlier than expected, and at the exit was the last great general, Sonya Shulen, who questioned Tir's sense of justice. The two sides engaged in a heated battle, with Tir's group emerging victorious. The general attempts to take her own life by diving into the burning river, but was saved by Viktor and brought with them outside.

Returning to rendezvous with Mathiu's group, it is revealed that Sanchez was the spy all along, remaining loyal to the emperor since their days together in the Succession war, he attempted to burn the fortress earlier, and take down Tir with it. Mathiu tried stopping Sanchez, but gets wounded severely in the process.

Flik gets enraged learning that he was the spy all along, and that he was involved in the death of his lover Odessa. As he is about to launch his sword at him, Mathiu stops him from doing so, explaining that spreading the news that a spy have infiltrated their army might demoralize their troops. Flik follows Mathiu's command to administer the punishment after the war and lowers his sword, as they return to the castle.
