Organizations and engineers working on electric vehicles’ battery technology must focus on the vehicle as a whole, including electrification of brakes, powertrain and HVAC – all of which will be software controlled.

For example, companies must choose how much range they can give to the vehicle’s occupants versus HVAC comfort if the battery is running low. Software in electric vehicles must provide safety and comfort to the consumer so they can confidently reach the next charging station when needed.
