Delhi Police busts gang of auto lifters involved in theft of 150 cars

New Delhi, May 04 (ANI): Delhi Police has busted a notorious gang of auto lifters and arrested two accused identified as Hemant and Balwant Singh along with one receiver Parvesh Kumar. Police have also recovered seven cars and various equipment including duplicate keys, blank keys, and key coding tabs which were being used by auto lifters to steal the cars. They have stolen about 150 cars in the past three months from various parts of Delhi and NCR and have sold these stolen vehicles to Parvesh Kumar, the receiver of the stolen property. During analysis of various CCTV footage in the area, it was revealed that one turban-wearing man is involved in many cases of car thefts. The team analysed many CCTV footage and dossiers of the accused of car theft. Police identified one of the accused who was found to be previously involved in car theft cases. Later on, the route which was being taken by the thief was identified and after chasing the accused, the team finally succeeded and intercepted one suspected i20 car and apprehended both the accused.
