Gaia, the sea witch, was as elusive as the stories of her suggested. She steered clear of the villages that surrounded the sea, but was always seen by sailors, who fought through the fog that she manifested to hide her appearance. She was beautiful and radiant just like the moonlight shining above the sea. A popular rumor was in the fishing village of Lalania where I’ve heard tales of sailors bringing home large hauls of fish and crabs after hearing a wisp-like humming sound that the sailors can never imitate, let alone describe it. They just knew that they found peace and safety in the melody.
