So many people on Instagram are talking about this lifesaving hack. Liquid Latex.


WARNING: PLEASE REMEMBER WHEN USING LIQUID LATEX IF YOU SELL PIECES OR GIVE PIECES OUT AS GIFTS AND SOMEONE HAS AN ALLERGY PLEASE LET PEOPLE KNOW PRIOR TO HAVING THEM TOUCH THE PIECE. SOME PEOPLE ARE DEATHLY ALLERGIC.

Steps on applying liquid latex:

Step 1: Dome one side of your piece. Doming means glazing a side. It gives it a finished look and shine. Typically you dome with epoxy resin. Let the piece cure for the full time. Mine is 24 hours.

Step 2: Sand the non-domed side. Wash your piece to remove resin dust and dry.

Step 3: Latex the side of your piece that is domed. You can use a popsicle stick or a silicone tool; whatever works for you. This will protect your piece from overspill. Overspill is when the resin drips from one side to the other.

Step 4: Wait for the latex to dry. It can take between 40 minutes to 2 hours depending on how thick you put it on.

Step 5: Once the latex is clear or dry you can now dome the opposite side.

Step 6: After your piece is dry again from doming you can now peel the latex off and see your piece free from overspill.
