Описание к видео Reflection of light ray diagram (2D animation) made with keynote

This video describes the reflective phenomenon of spherical mirrors which are used in our daily lives for variable purposes which are indispensable.

it begins with the construction of a spherical mirror
nomenclature of the significant elements involved in the process.
essential elements of the spherical mirror are
1. centre of curvature - the midpoint or the centre of the sphere from which the mirror is formed.
2. pole - the midpoint of the mirror which is formed by cutting the spherical surface.
3. radius of curvature - the distance from the centre of curvature to the pole of the mirror
4. focus - half the distance of the radius of curvature, lies exactly in-between the centre of curvature and the pole.
5. focal length - distance between the focus and the pole, or the distance between the focus and the midpoint of the mirror.

reflection is a ability of light to bounce off the surface of materials or objects based on the property of the material. shiny objects have the property to reflect more light than other objects.
opaque substances are much less reflective while objects which are black in colour are non-reflective.

spherical mirrors are so named as due to the fact that they are formed from a sphere which is cut and painted and polished so as to have a highly reflective surface.

two types of mirrors can be obtained from the spherical mirror which are namely
1. convex mirror
2. concave mirror

convex mirror - when we have a bulge and a depression, where-in the bulging surface is facing towards us while the back of it has a depression like a cave. this depression is painted with silver oxide and polished. since now the light rays can bounce off the mirror from the bulging surface we have named it as convex.

concave mirror - when we have a bulge and a depression, where-in the depression is facing towards us while the back of it has a bulge like a swelling. this bulge is painted with silver oxide and polished. since now the light rays can bounce off the mirror from the depression we name it as concave.
