Thanksgiving Song: STEADY BEAT Body Percussion

Lower elementary music students and music teachers LOVE this Thanksgiving Song: steady beat body percussion! Use this video to reinforce steady beat while your students enjoy a fun singing game. (See singing game instructions below) Perfect for prekindergarten,kindergarten, first grade and second grade, “Here Turkey Turkey” by Lisa Gillam is a fun song with catchy melody and lyrics.

Game Instructions:
1. Choose one student to be the “Turkey Catcher”.
2. Instruct other students to form straight, side-by-side lines and pat the beat as they sing the song.
3. The Turkey Catcher will walk down the line, in front of their classmates to the beat of the music.
4. On the words, “...coming home today.” The Turkey Catcher changes places with the nearest student. That student becomes the new Turkey Catcher, and the game continues.
