ANNUAL STRENGTH TEST #5

Bridge supported on head and feet only.

5 minutes was the goal. Got 6:55.

Why was I so off on my time? I hadn’t planned on doing a strength test today. Was only going to film a 3 minute bridge as a primer of sorts for my other training inputs during a work break. Didn’t have any timers so I counted in my mind. As I was approaching 180 I felt good so I just kept pushing my limits to 300 seconds counted in my mind. This is a huge win for me, my mind, nervous system, body, soul. I was able to keep an internal clock slower than the external measured amount. IN THE FACE OF AN EXTRA UNCOMFORTABLE, DANGEROUS, AND THREATENING STIMULUS. If I weren’t as calm and strong and at peace as a result of the work I’ve done, am doing and the way I live, my internal clock would’ve been faster. Panic. Unadapted stress. Struggle. And that can perfectly happen at times showing you where you need to go to work.

Not only did I perform a full body, dangerous strength move without damage or injury, while counting my time in my head slower than the external measures time, but I also was met with 4 moments of panic and a perfect response the body uses during these times. And if you look close you can see. Because of the angle my neck was placed under, I closed off my esophagus tube to my stomach. Which was preventing me from swallowing. My mind felt this response, body and nervous wanted to cower due to the threat and danger, but kind brought it back 4 times to stay calm, you’re alright, keep going. You see this swallowing reflex when we practice getting good at holding our breath. Pumped I was able to meet with a very dangerous, unsettling, scary moment of function where my structure couldn’t swallow because of my extreme position and I was able to stay calm, keep counting and most importantly control the musculature of my body down to the most precise level during 415 seconds of effort, fatigue, endurance, mindset, emotions, and breath.

Goes without saying but social media is next level: do not try this because you saw me do it. These are my strength tests to test my mind, body and spirit on all levels to assess my training for my life.
