Three notorious thieves of the gang involved in car theft in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida NCR were arrested during a police encounter by the police team of Sector 49 police station. Three other accused were arrested on the basis of information provided by the arrested accused. 7 stolen cars, keys of five other vehicles, headlight of one stolen car, one shocker, one screwdriver, six fake number plates, RC of one vehicle, three electronic devices (related to car theft) and one pistol of .315 bore with one empty shell and one live cartridge of .315 were recovered.
Details of the action-
On the night of 1/2.03.2025, during checking by Sector 49 police station, an ascent vehicle was seen coming near Sector 76 Metro Station, Noida. When it was signaled to stop, it did not stop. They stopped and started driving the car fast. When the police got suspicious and chased them, the people in the car got down from the car and fired at the police force with the intention to kill them. In which one criminal got injured by the bullet in the action taken by the police force in self-defense. He has been identified as Sonu son Kailashchand resident Darirpur, Police Station Kapurpur, District Hapur, age about 27 years. Other 02 accused have been arrested during combing operation, who have been identified as accused Pawan Kumar son late Sundar resident Daharpur, Police Station Kapurpur, District Hapur, age about 31 years and accused Raghuvansh son Babli Singh resident Achhronda, Police Station Partapur, District Meerut, age about 27 years. 01 Accent Car Regd. No. HR 55 AE 5628, 03 electronic devices (related to car theft), 01 RC, keys of 02 other vehicles and one pistol .315 bore with one empty cartridge and one live cartridge were recovered from their possession.
On interrogation of the arrested accused, it was learnt that other cars stolen by them and their fellow co-accused were waiting for them at another place. On the identification of the accused, three other accused namely Gurmeet Singh son of Sardar Bel Singh resident of T-235 A 48 Baljit Nagar Patel Nagar Delhi age about 55 years, Satish son of Dharam Singh resident of Ladrawan Police Station Bahadurgarh District Sonipat Haryana age 40 years and Amit son of Radheshyam resident of Khanpur Deoli Police Station Nepasrai Delhi age about 35 years have been arrested along with 06 stolen cars, 01 headlight and 01 socker (Honda City Car) and 06 fake number plates, keys of 03 other vehicles and 01 patch cord.
The accused are clever thieves, they have committed many incidents of car theft in Noida, Ghaziabad, Delhi NCR, against whom more than a dozen cases of theft are registered.
Method of committing crime and details of interrogation-
During interrogation, accused Sonu son Kailashchand told that he does recce before stealing the vehicle. When he sees that there is no CCTV camera or any security guard around the said vehicle, then he takes his other companions Amit son Radheshyam and Pawan Kumar son late Sundar, who are good drivers of the vehicle and another companion Raghuvansh son Babli along with him and parks his vehicle with fake number plate which has already been changed, next to the vehicle targeted for theft. Sonu opens the lock of the gate of the vehicle with the screwdriver and sits inside the vehicle bending/hiding. His other companions complete the process of starting the vehicle and the sensors of the vehicle within 4-5 minutes with the help of other electronic tools available with them. His companions Amit, Raghuvansh and Pawan keep an eye on the people around. For example, if there is a sound of someone coming, then Sonu and his other companions run away in the car. If no person comes, then these people steal that car from there and some of their companions run away from there sitting in the stolen car and the other car brought by them. After that these people hide the stolen car in the warehouse of their companion Satish son of Dharam Singh (above) and the places told by him, after which they sell the car when they find a customer.
