Is Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War The Perfect Ace Combat Game?

After Ace Combat 04, the franchise was set up for success. The game was not only the most critically acclaimed in the franchise, but it also outsold both Ace Combat 2 and 3. This might sound great, and that’s because it is, but it also means that the pressure was on the Project Aces team to make a worthy successor. And I know that for a lot of you in the comments and live stream chats, this is your personal favorite in the franchise, so again, my expectations were high going into this one. So, was Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War an improvement over the prior title, or did it fall short? Well, let’s talk about it.

Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War is a 2004 combat flight simulation video game developed and published by Namco for the PlayStation 2. The game was developed by Project Aces, an internal Namco group credited with the development of the Ace Combat series. A limited number of the games were bundled with the Hori Flightstick 2 accessory.
