I Built a Robotic Trash Lid

In this video, I modified a trash lid to open automatically when someone gets near it. While not the most exciting robotics project, it's very practical. I was able to build it using very few parts thanks to an easy-to-use mixed-signal CPLD by SILEGO (now Renesas) controlling a servo motor. Without a single line of code, the CPLD can be programmed to do a variety of functions. Part of the reason I did this project is for Flux's robotics competition.
