Lying in my bed,
wrestling with my memories
Conversations in my head,
regrets on repeat
Having someone there doesn’t make it go away
Am I okay with knowing
that it might be here to stay

My dreams are never ceasing
but never are at hand
Numerous as the stars and shifty as the sand
Every time it seems
that I’ve arrived at heaven’s door
The scenery changes
and it’s not heaven anymore
