We finally got to ride in the back of a pickup! These colectivos are no joke, but bouncing around is more fun than taking the van on this road.

Our first stop on our cave tour is Lanquin cave, at 6pm all the bats flee for their dinner. We had to see it!

Lanquin cave cost us 30Q for the entrance, or around $3.75USD.

From Lanquin we were able to catch our colectivo and head to the main attraction, Semuc Champey. With the beautiful hike and even better pools Semuc Champey is a perfect destination.

Semuc Champey was 50Q each, that included the mirador and swimming in the natural pools. K’anba was 60Q each, which included the tour as well as access to a mirador hike and the river fed pool.

For our adventurous side we made our way to K’anba cave to do a candlelit water cave tour. Wadding through the water while holding onto ropes and only using a candle for light was so much fun! An adventure made more intense with optional jumping points from the guide.

Of course after all this our furry friends needed some outdoor time so we found a perfect place where we can all wander around.
