While this blue DMG Play It Loud Game Boy has been modified as a Zega Mame Boy using the newer internal components such as the PCB and LCD, I wanted to try it out using my 8BitDo SN30 Pro controller and played Donkey Kong ‘94 on there via the mGBA emulator included with this Pi which does provide Super Game Boy features! Because the Zega Mame Boy can use various emulators on there like the GB, GBC, NES, Game Gear, SNES, GBA, and more, with the Super Game Boy features being present in the video, I pretty much made this DMG Game Boy like a Super Game Boy on the go! The Super Game Boy is an accessory made for the SNES where you can use the original Game Boy games on TV, and while it was released in 1994, Nintendo released a Japanese exclusive Super Game Boy 2 accessory for the SFC in 1998. Also, the clock speed for the game in the video is exactly the same as the Game Boy and the SGB2, although the SGB1 was slightly faster than the Game Boy’s clock speed.
