Legacy of Unity: Stories of Courage
The documentary’s power lies in the voices of missionaries themselves. Don Bosco transformed missionary zeal into a way of life, entrusting his sons and daughters with a daring vision: to reach the young, especially the poorest and most abandoned, wherever they may be. Legacy of Unity reveals the deepest strength of the Salesian mission today: unity in communion and collaboration. Inspired by the Trinitarian mystery and the synodal vision of the Church, the film shows how unity among religious congregations and lay people multiplies mission effectiveness and becomes a credible Gospel witness in a divided world.

The journey began with Legacy of Love, which revealed charity (agape) as the soul of the Salesian vocation. Missionaries embody Christ’s compassion through education, evangelisation, and social service, embracing sacrifice as participation in the Cross.

The second film, Legacy of Grace, highlighted divine grace as God’s sustaining power in human fragility. It showed how the Eucharist, Marian devotion, and prayer transform suffering into hope, making charity a force for peace.

Scripted and directed by Fr. Biju Michael—a seasoned communicator and award-winning filmmaker—the films maintain an authentic narrative style that resonates with both spiritual and secular audiences. His work has earned international recognition, including a jury prize at the Magnificat International Catholic Film Festival in Belarus for The Pool of Siloam, and screenings and award at festivals in Poland. His documentary film, Thun Hu won screenings in the Asiatica film festival in Rome.

Post-production was carried out at FrameFlow - DBICA, Chennai, under the expertise of Fr. Ernest Rosario, Fr Joseph PT, and Fr. Britto Francis. Their craftsmanship has given the trilogy a visually compelling and spiritually resonant quality.
